The Challenge with Roofers and Skylights
Do roofers know enough about skylights to do the roof and the skylights at the same time?
The answer is yes and no. The fact that our company continues to grow and operate solely on skylights lets you know that general quality of most roofers skylight installations.
Roofers generally don’t like having to deal with skylights. It slows down their production with more detailed and challenging work, and therefore reducing their pay. Skylights also present a challenge, and a potential future leak or other problem.
In an effort to provide the cheapest service to the customer, most roofers buy the least expensive product. Which, as the old phrase goes, you get what you pay for. And in the end we get a lot of calls from homeowner with leaking skylights right after a roof replacement. There are however, roofers whose aim is to provide high quality service in all products.
We have many of these roofers that are part of our Preferred Contractor Network (PCN). They rely upon us to stay up to date on the latest technology, have the correctly trained employees, provide the best price on skylights and overall customer service. This ensures their customers get the right skylight in the right place at the right time.
